Pay Kaffarah

Home Pay Kaffarah

At Al Qulub Trust, we recognise the significance of meeting your Islamic duties with integrity and convenience. When you need to pay kaffarah for intentionally breaking a fast in Ramadan or for violating an oath, we offer a reliable platform to do so. Our process ensures transparency and directs your contribution straight to those facing difficulties.

What is Kaffarah in Islam?

Kaffarah is the payment a Muslim makes to atone for certain deliberate mistakes. The two most common types of kaffarah people need to pay are for intentionally breaking a fast during Ramadan and for breaking a serious oath made to Allah. It applies only when a violation occurs knowingly and without a valid excuse. It combines rectification with practical assistance to the underprivileged.

This expiation purifies your actions and provides meals to poor people who struggle to eat every day. After you pay the kaffarah, it is very important that you also repent sincerely to Allah and make a firm intention never to repeat the mistake.

Kaffarah for Deliberately Broken Fasts in Ramadan

In cases of deliberately invalidating a Ramadan fast without justification, kaffarah becomes mandatory. Such invalidation occurs through intentional acts like consuming food, water, or participating in marital relations during fasting hours. The preferred method involves fasting 60 days in a row with no breaks at all. However, many people cannot fast for sixty consecutive days because of serious ongoing health problems, old age or other permanent difficulties. In those cases, the ruling is clear. You must feed sixty poor people instead of fasting.

Feeding means giving each person one complete meal of good quality, the same kind of food you would normally serve to your own family.

By directing your kaffarah through us, we allocate these resources to purchase and deliver meals to qualified recipients. Our focus remains on supporting the most vulnerable, such as single-parent households, children without guardians, and groups impacted by economic or emergency situations.

Kaffarah for Breaking an Oath

For breaching an oath, known as yameen (vow), kaffarah is equally required. Upon intentionally swearing to act or refrain and then failing, you atone by feeding or clothing 10 needy people, or fasting three days consecutively if material provision is unfeasible. Most people find it easiest and most practical to feed ten people. As stated in Qur’an,

“Allah will not take you to task for what is unintentional in your oaths, but He will take you to task for oaths you have sworn deliberately. The expiation for it is feeding ten needy people with the average of what you feed your own families, or clothing them, or freeing a slave. But whoever cannot afford it must fast for three days. That is the expiation for the oaths you have sworn.” (Surah Al-Ma’idah 5:89)

We manage this responsibility for you and make sure your donation is used to provide proper food or clothing to those who qualify as poor according to Islamic rules.

Difference Between Kaffarah and Fidyah

Clarifying kaffarah and fidyah is very crucial, as each applies to distinct scenarios.

Fidyah is due for omitted fasts with a legitimate excuse, like short-term sickness, pregnancy, lactation, or journeys, especially when later compensation is impossible due to lasting disablements. It involves feeding one needy person per omitted fast.

Kaffarah addresses wilful violations without excuse, imposing a stricter demand: 60 feedings per occurrence compared to fidyah's single one.

Both fidyah and kaffarah aid the needy, yet kaffarah emphasises the seriousness of intentional disregard. If your situation is about missed fasts with a valid reason, please go to our separate fidyah section on the website.

How to Pay Kaffarah Online

Many people ask how do you pay kaffarah in a way that is valid and accepted. The key requirement is intention. Your intention must be specific to kaffarah and tied to the exact violation.

Paying kaffarah online removes uncertainty and transportation difficulty. Instead of arranging individual meals yourself, you can fulfil your obligation through a verified charitable channel. At Al Qulub Trust, we calculate kaffarah amounts based on real food costs, not estimates.

When you pay kaffarah online, you retain full clarity about where your contribution goes and how it is used. Your payment is treated strictly as kaffarah and not diverted to general charitable causes.

The process is designed to be extremely simple. Navigate to the donation page, select the option for general donation. Choose kaffarah as an option and write the amount you have to pay. Choose your payment method and complete the secure transaction. We will send you a receipt right away, and we will arrange for the food to be distributed properly on your behalf.

If any part of the process is unclear or you need help deciding the right amount, simply contact us. We are always ready to answer your questions and guide you step by step.

When Should Kaffarah Be Paid

There is no fixed deadline for kaffarah, but delaying without reason is discouraged. Once the obligation exists, it should be fulfilled as soon as reasonably possible.

Paying kaffarah promptly ensures peace of mind and prevents the accumulation of unpaid obligations.

Can Someone Else Pay Kaffarah on Your Behalf?

Yes, kaffarah may be paid on your behalf if you are genuinely unable to do so due to illness, old age, or lack of income. In such cases, a family member or guardian may fulfil the obligation with the correct intention.

What matters is that the kaffarah is paid correctly and reaches eligible recipients. Al Qulub Trust facilitates this process while maintaining compliance with Islamic guidelines.

Seek Forgiveness Alongside Your Payment

Paying the money is only one half of the matter. The other half is even more important. Kaffarah completion complements tawbah, the act of turning back to Allah earnestly. Express remorse sincerely, plead mercy, and resolve to maintain your commitments moving forward. This dual approach achieves proper expiation.

We at Al Qulub Trust appreciate your reliance on us for this duty. Your involvement not only resolves your obligation but also uplifts lives in meaningful ways.

Thank you for entrusting Al Qulub Trust with your kaffarah. Visit the donation page right now, pay your kaffarah and feel the relief of having fulfilled this important obligation. May Allah accept everything from you and make it a source of goodness in this life and the next.
